SOLIDARITY/Solidarities Conference @ The School of Slavonic and East European Studies (5-6 June)
This conference, the inaugural event of the Children of the Revolution Season, will engage with the historical moment of Solidarity and other oppositional movements in Central and Eastern Europe with a view to reassessing the concept of solidarity both in its theoretical dimensions and in its relevance for political action today. Children of the Revolution 1989 - 2009 is a series of events taking place this year in London, twenty years on, examining these revolutionary happenings and their legacy. Read more...
European Literature Night @ the British Library (13 May)
Is one of many events, which take place simultaneously across European capitals on the 13th of May to celebrate European literature in a genuine trans-European event. In London, writers from the Czech Republic, Italy, France, Hungary, Poland and Romania, introduced by their patrons, read their books and engage in a debate.
